Day 7 - December 3, 2015

It was a short sail around to Marigot Bay, still on St. Lucia.

It was an enjoyable sail with some great scenery.

Marigot Bay is economically a night and day difference from yesterday. We had entered the world of the rich and famous. And for the first time since leaving Grenada we had world class Internet. Entering the harbor we could tell by the buildings and yachts that we "had arrived".

The day was ours to enjoy as we wished with taxi service back and forth to shore and back via dinghy as needed. Our first stop after drooling over the inventory at the Diamond International store was the Capella Hotel bar for rum and Internet.

After catching up with emails and this blog it was time to explore the beaches.

Capitalism is not dead on the islands. Food, cold drinks, beach chair rentals and souvenirs were available on a "commercial row".

And there was a couple of restaurants as well. Doolittle's was the largest.

Then there was the smaller and more intimate Rainforest Hideaway.

Luba, Clair and I explored it.

The non-indigenous lionfish is quite destructive to other sea life and has no known predators except humans. The Rainforest Hideaway serves it as an entree or as an appetizer, lionfish ceviche. Captain Phillip was kind enough to take the dinghy over for ceviche to go, and Chef Barney plated it dramatically.

The day ended with a sirloin steak dinner and Chicken Foot dominos and rum.
